Roderick Zak

Campaign Consultant

Roderick Zak has more than forty years of experience as a pastor and ministry leader, with a focus on helping congregations cast vision and fund the next step God has placed before them. He believes a capital campaign is, at its heart, a season of spiritual leadership, an opportunity for a pastor to unite a congregation around a clear, biblical vision and invite them into the sacrificial joy of building something together.

Roderick is the founding pastor of Rejoice in the Lord Ministries in Apopka, Florida, a congregation of approximately 1,200 members. Over the course of his ministry, he has led successful capital campaigns at more than one church, in both denominational and non-denominational settings. He has done this work through recessions and through times of economic strength, and in every season, he has seen God provide for the vision He had called the church to fulfill. Just five years into planting RITLM in 2004, he led the congregation through the vision, financing, and construction of their 1,100-seat sanctuary, drawing on lessons from those earlier campaigns. He has since led additional capital initiatives and a major facility renovation, carrying every project from first vision to dedication day.

Roderick is also the founder of Need to Read Inc. He holds a B.S. in Legal Studies from Spring Hill College and an M.Div. from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta. His counsel is regularly sought by fellow pastors on building, stewardship, and leading congregations into a new chapter of ministry.

Roderick joined CGS to extend the lessons of his own ministry to other churches, stepping into their own season of growth. He has a heart for the local church and for the pastors who lead them.

Roderick and his wife, Vanessa, make their home in Orlando, Florida. They have four children and three grandchildren, and Roderick loves basketball.
